Folks...

A small mid week dose of what the student papers are saying about last week's racing.

  • From Yale Daily News - "Lightweights still flawless after sweep of Dartmouth" - Durand
  • From The Dartmouth - "Lightweights split weekend races with win over Columbia"
  • From The Harvard Crimson - "Navy Uses Depth to Down All Six Crimson Boats" - Haines Trophy

  • From The Harvard Crimson - "Harvard Denied First By A Blink" -- Biglin Bowl - Dartmouth
  • From Yale Daily News - "Men’s heavyweights’ struggles continue"
  • From Harvard Crimson - "Harvard Continues Mid-Season Success" -- Adams Cup
  • From Yale Daily News - "Women's crew wins fifth regatta of season" - Nathaniel Case Cup

Speaking of the Dartmouth LW 1V's 5/100th of a second victory over Harvard in the Biglin Bowl, Coach Steve Perry offered the following:

Technically, a bow ball is .03 seconds. I know this because Yale defeated our D150 varsity eight at the 2006 IRA by a bow ball and the official time was registered as .03 seconds. So, to answer your question I think .05 is equivalent to 6-10 inches being a bow ball is only 3-5 inches long.

Check out the pictures included with the articles -- Yale W 1V, Dartmouth LW 1V, and Harvard LW 1V ... more of those Starboard Strokes! Keith Weaver?

Great stuff this weekend -- HYP -- Goldthwait and Vogel Cups -- GO BLUE!

    Best regards,
